Position: - General Manager – Environment, Health & Safety

Experience: - 15 Yrs – 20 Yrs

Location: - Mumbai



Position Details



 EHS function will be corporate driven and he will be responsible for the same.

 To align EHS activities in India with Global plants.

 To develop, coordinate and administer implementation of EHS programmes based on a management system approach.

 To design, manage and budget for EHS services in a manner consistent with local culture, needs, risks and business objectives.

 To evaluate the EHS implications of occupational exposures to chemical agents (including mixtures) noise, ergonomics and other work place hazards.

 To recommend, develop and implement policies and controls to reduce or mitigate EHS Risks.

 Understand the extent of potential releases to the environment from the facility’s operations with basic aspects of air-dispersion modeling.

 Should be well versed with the Government laws, rules and regulations pertaining to EHS and explain accurately the interpretation and enforcement to the management and how they apply to the operations at all sites.

 Develop, conduct and evaluate training on EHS programmes, process & controls for employees and EHS personnel.

 Should have managerial competency in using appropriate management principles in conflict resolution, negotiation, consensus building, problem solving, team building and change management.

 Function as a Risk Assessment Specialist activating the management of all EHS related activities.

 Understands the key concepts underlying the assessment of Process Safety Hazards, Environment Hazard and manage implementation of controls.

 To develop EHS Management systems both within the organization as well as with the contract manufacturers on the lines of International standards like ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

 To develop EHS targets and objectives for the organization bench marking with similar industries.

 To conduct due diligence audits at contract manufacturing / existing sites prior to finalization of business deals with third parties.

 Understands principles underlying emergency response program and implements effectively.

 To lead the waste minimization programme and communicate the results and their implication to the management.

 Should be aggressive to drive the function and support the professional development of other EHS personnel and function as EHS specialist and provide effective solutions to the management.

 Prepare monthly consolidated EHS reports for the review by the management.

 Responsible for regulatory approvals, inspections and its compliance for all sites.

Desired Profile
15 to 20 years experience in Pharma / Chemical Process manufacturing Industry.

BE – Chemical / Electrical, Diploma in Industrial Safety, Msc. (Environment),

Lead auditor in ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

Exposure in corporate or global role would be preffered.
